AttendanceThis is a featured page

From day one in choir, we start working together as a TEAM. Each person contributes his or her distinctive voice to a choir. Putting those different voices together takes a lot of work. But the result is a great sound. When someone is missing, however, the balance is lost; the sound is lost. Bottom line, when you are missing from a performance or rehearsal, you affect the whole group. ***Therefore, attendance is required at ALL of our performances and some extra rehearsals. Unless your director receives IN WRITING a note explaining your absence BEFORE THE EVENT, your absence is “unexcused” and will result in a zero for that performance grade. Singer illness and family emergencies will be considered an excused absence if written notice and proof is given within 24 hours after the student returns from absence. Please call Mrs. Wright with any questions. All conflicts will be handled on an individual basis. Students with a proven legitimate excuse will be given a make-up assignment to complete for the performance credit. In the back of this handbook, you’ll find the Roach and Fowler Choir Calendar. And as the year goes along, you’ll need to add some dates to the calendar. Whenever you get a new date, please mark it on your calendar and tell your parents about it. Keep up with your schedule and make sure to tell Mrs. Wright about conflicts AHEAD OF TIME.

Parents! This will be the most overlooked part of our handbook, yet it is the most important! Choir is a performance class and the culmination of all of our hard work and rehearsal is our participation in contests and concerts. It is extremely important that students attend all required events. Please make every effort for your student to attend these irreplaceable experiences.
